Accessibility statement
How this site was tested, with the results.
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. It is a concept project and the league is fictional, but the tests below were run on this site.
Test results, October 28, 2026
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| axe-core (WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA, plus best practices) | 0 violations on all 11 pages, at phone and desktop sizes |
| Lighthouse accessibility (3 pages: home, standings, fields, phone profile) | 100 on every page tested |
| Lighthouse performance | 95 to 100; the home page is the heaviest because of its photo |
| Lighthouse best practices | 100 on every page tested |
| Keyboard | Skip link is the first stop and every stop shows a visible focus ring |
| Reflow at 320 and 640 pixels wide | No horizontal scrolling |
| Text spacing | No clipped text |
| Structure | One h1 per page, no skipped heading levels, every page has a title and description, every image has an alt attribute (empty for decoration) |
| Page weight | About 355 KB or less for any page, including images. The teams page is the heaviest because it shows all twelve badges |
Schedule and standings
The schedule and standings are real tables with column and row headers and a caption. The division, team and game filters have labels, and the number of games shown is announced to screen readers when you change a filter. On narrow screens the schedule stacks into labelled rows. Calendar files (.ics) are available for each division.
What was fixed during testing
- The large division letters on the leader cards failed the contrast check. They are now purely decorative, drawn in the stylesheet, and not part of the page text.
- The Sponsors and Contact pages skipped a heading level. Both now step down in order.
- Team badges are decorative and hidden from screen readers, because every team name is written out beside its badge. The photos on this site are computer-generated for the concept. They are not real people, customers or places.
- The photos were resized to about twice the size they show on screen, which brought the home page performance score back up.
Not yet tested
- Manual screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA), including the filter announcements. This statement will be updated when it is done.
- The checks above load each page once. They do not click through every filter combination.
- Lighthouse "SEO" shows 60 to 63, not 100, because the site is deliberately marked
noindexso search engines skip this concept project.
Tools: axe-core, Lighthouse 12, and Nest Co.'s own scripted checks. Team names, coaches, scores and sponsors are all invented.
